The Plenary Indulgence for Divine Mercy Sunday

The Church grants a plenary indulgence on Divine Mercy Sunday under the usual conditions, for the faithful who, with a spirit of detachment from sin:

  1. Go to Confession
  2. Receive Holy Communion
  3. Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father
  4. In a spirit of mercy, perform an act of mercy for others
  5. Publicly venerate the Divine Mercy Image
  6. Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, or take part in devotions honouring Divine Mercy

This indulgence was formally decreed by St. John Paul II in 2002 and remains one of the great gifts of the Feast.
